Rattlesnake & Antilope Canyon

This morning we had booked a tour at “Adventurous Antelope Canyon Photo Tours LLC” for Rattlesnake & Antilope Canyon. This has turned out to be a good choice, as we where only 5 people in the group, so we where able to move quickly and had so enough time to take images. Our guide was superb and showed us the right spots and angles to shoot at.

We drove with an old car through the sand to the entrance of Rattlesnake Canyon, this is located next to Antilope Canyon, so it did not take long to move over later. We where the only tour in the Rattlesnake Canyon. We could move on your own speed and where able to shoot some amazing pictures. We could also test our settings for the “Big one..” so mainly we shot at F11 and ISO 100 or less, and of course with a tripod.

as midday was approaching, we headed over to Antilope Canyon, we saw 20+ cars and many people at the entrance of the canyon. Our guide told us to fold our tripods and get ready for prime time. we rushed through the canyon and searched for the right light beams and locations. We stopped, setup our gear, and the guides where holding back the people, then we had 2min to shoot. The guide has thrown up sand in the air in order to show the light beams… over and over…  After two hours and hundered’s of photos later we packed up and went back to the parking.

After seeing so many canyons.. we decided to head over to Monument Valley…
