Battery life in cold weather….

Battery life in cold weather….

last week I was in Arosa enjoying a wonderful day. It was cold, really cold, about -12°C but the sun was shining and the scenery way perfect to shoot videos. I brought along my new GoPro Hero Black 7, my Mavic Air with the iPad, and my iPhone 7. In the morning I took my GoPro with me to the slopes. Fully charged batteries. I put the GoPro in my pocket of the trousers. The first hour, worked pretty good,…

Mavic Air over snowy Arosa

Mavic Air over snowy Arosa

During our Christmas holidays I managed to fly my Mavic Air a few times. It was gorgeous, the sun was out, the trees covered with fresh snow. Really peaceful. So I thought I would compose a little video about these days.   I’ve also found a new tool, to look into the flight data: it’s called AirData, it syncs the data from the Dji site to the AirData, and then it processes it. This is how it can look. My…

An other night at the Prätschsee

An other night at the Prätschsee

Last weekend it was promised to see a lot of shooting stars, and as the forecast was pretty good, I packed up my new Samyon 14mm/f2.8 on the Nikon D850, and as backup my D610 with the 14-24mm/f2.8. I’ve arrived at about 9:30pm in Arosa, and went directly to the Prätschli Hotel by car. This is my starting point for the 20min walk to the Prätschsee. This is the same place which I was taking pictures with Alessandro Della Bella the…

Night photoworkshop by Alessandro Della Bella

Night photoworkshop by Alessandro Della Bella

Last week I was able to join the Night Photoworkshop led by Alessandro Della Bella. Alessandro is known from his work of Helvetia by Night, which is well known in Switzerland. We met at 9pm at the Prätschli Hotel in Arosa. There where about 10 people waiting, including Alessandro. He welcomed us and asked if someone would need some additional gear. I was fine with my tripod, and as he is a Canon shooter, I can not use any of…

Hike to the Schwellisee in Arosa

Hike to the Schwellisee in Arosa

The Hike Today we packed one big backpack (yes it was heavy) with lunch, my Mavic Air, all cloths from my family, and lot’s of water. We did stop at the Gaden bus stop and walked to the lake Schwellisee in about 2h. I was a nice day, not too hot, some clouds and wind. While we where walking, there was a helicopter brining concrete to the top of the Hörnli every five minutes. The girls loved it, it was…

Stausee Isel from above

Stausee Isel from above

A hot day in Arosa Today the sun was shining almost all day, and it was quite hot as well. So we decided to walk down from Arosa to Lizirüti. On the way there is the Stausee Isel, and as I had my drone with me, I thought I get some nice patterns from above. So I flew over the lake and got some nice pattern on the opposite (east side) side of the lake. I did not fly very…
